The 2017/2018 State of the District

Tulsa, OK - The 2018 State of the District was held on Monday, September 17th at the Education Service Center in Tulsa. Team Tulsa provided the public with a comprehensive report detailing the amazing work and growth we saw at Tulsa Public Schools over the 2017-2018 school year.

The report explores all the measures Tulsa Public Schools uses on our district scorecard to track how programs and initiatives are working, as well as all the measures used to track operational growth.

Here is a link to the Tulsa Public Schools YouTube channel where we have 15 videos detailing our work over the last year.

We focused our efforts in four main areas:

College and career-ready graduates; which spotlights graduation rates, and the percentage of students meeting SAT college-readiness benchmarks in reading, writing and math.

Academic excellence; which focused on the percentage of 3rd graders proficient in reading, the percentage of students proficient in reading and math, the percentage of students meeting projected reading growth, and the percentage of students meeting projected math growth.

Safe, supportive, and joyful school climate and culture; focused on the average daily attendance rate, our chronic absenteeism rate, and our suspension rate.

Organizational health; which spotlights our novice teacher retention rate, the percentage of employees who are engaged and committed to Tulsa Public Schools, and the percentage of teachers and principals with positive perceptions of district office.
